My Dear Brethren,
Allied Masonry has existed in India for over 130 years since the consecration of Excelsior AMD Council at Kolkatta on 24th June,1881. The District of Southern India is rather new, being upgraded from an Inspectorate to a full fledged District on 27th September 2011. The District comprises of the States of Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Puducherry and the Union Territories of Andamans & Nicobar and Lakshwadweep.
The Order has seen rapid growth in Southern India- called the cradle of Masonry in India, since the first AMD Council was consecrated in at Chennai in 2007. The District Office is headquartered along with the other Mark Mason Hall Orders at the Freemasons Hall, Chennai in the State of Tamil Nadu.
